2023 Rules and Regulations for Exhibitors

Our mission is to provide the residents of Hollis, both past and present, with a traditional Old Home Days celebration that is fun, safe and family-friendly. Our celebration brings together families, friends, neighbors, community groups and local businesses to honor, unite and support our community.

The following rules and regulations are applicable to all commercial and non-profit exhibitors at Hollis Old Home Days.

Application Process

The Old Home Days committee expressly reserves the right to accept or reject an application based on timeliness of filing.

The due date for completed applications is August 31, 2023.

The application must include:

  1. Completed application form

  2. Payment in full

Space allocation for non-profit organizations directly serving the Town of Hollis is given priority over any other non-profit or for profit entity.

The Old Home Days committee shall retain the exclusive right to reject any and all exhibitor applications in an effort to maintain the quality of our traditional, family- friendly, celebration of community.

Exhibitors, including food exhibitors, shall sell only those items indicated on their application. In order to avoid duplication, please be specific when describing the items you intend to sell. Items not listed on the application may be prohibited at the event.

Set-Up

Exhibitors must be completely set-up by 10:00am on Saturday, September 9th. Any space not set-up by that time may revert to the Old Home Days committee together with all monies paid.

To minimize the impact on the town fields, exhibitors are allowed only one vehicle onto the field for set-up. Any exceptions must get prior approval.

Exhibitors shall not dig or hammer into the ground unless approved by the Old Home Days committee in advance.

The Old Home Days committee does not furnish tables, chairs, extension cords or supplies of any kind.

Electrical

Electricity is available at a limited number of spaces for an additional fee. (See exhibitor application.) Electrical cords are the exhibitor’s responsibility. Three-wire supply cord is required on 110 volt connections. All electrical equipment must be “UL” approved.

Exhibitors using generators may only use small, quiet ones.

Clean-up

Exhibitor must clean the space at the close of the event.

Hollis Old Home Days expressly forbids the following

  • No exhibitor’s activities may interfere with the displays or activities of any other exhibitor.

  • No parking will be allowed on the field during the hours of 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday

    September, 9th.

  • Home-party type businesses are not allowed.

  • Exhibitors are prohibited from soliciting more than four (4) feet from their prospective assigned space.

  • Literature may only be distributed at exhibitor booths. Walking around the field, handing out literature is strictly prohibited. Literature is also prohibited from being placed anywhere on the grounds, including but not limited to car windshields, bathrooms, barbeque areas, etc.

  • No exhibitors are allowed to sell cotton candy, candy apples, sno-cones or popcorn.

  • Sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages is not allowed.

  • Tobacco sales are not allowed.

  • The sale of firearms or any kind of weapon is not allowed.

  • No items with content that is obscene or violent (including mirrors, t-shirts, posters, toy weapons, etc.) may be displayed, sold or awarded as prizes.

  • No lasers or knives are to be displayed, sold or awarded as prizes.

  • Exhibitors not selling food products shall not hand out free treats.

Hours of Scheduled Events

Friday, September 8th, 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm Saturday, September 9th, 10:00 am to 8:30 pm

Minimum Hours of Exhibitor Operations:

Saturday, September 9th, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Participating on Friday evening is optional.
Exhibitors must close by 10:00 pm on Friday and 8:30 pm on Saturday. No exceptions.
