One of the busiest places at Hollis Old Home Days will be the Silent Auction in the Lawrence Barn.  People stop by to place a bid, check that their bid is still the highest, and say hello to friends and neighbors.

These days, everyone is looking for a great deal, and no seasoned bargain hunter will be able to resist our Silent Auction.  It takes place on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 10:00am-5:00pm inside Lawrence Barn, next to Nichols Field.  The names of the Silent Auction winners are announced over the Old Home Days loudspeaker at 7:30pm.  If you are a winner, you can pay (cash or check, only) and pick up your item at the Lawrence Barn between 5:00pm-8:00pm.  However, if you are not present when the winners are announced, that is no problem.  The Lawrence Barn will be open again from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday, Sept. 18 so that the remaining Silent Auction winners can pay and pick up their items.

The Silent Auction is our leading fund raiser for the year, helping us to bring Hollis Old Home Days to the community. We’re planning to out-do ourselves this year with an amazing array of certificates, specialty items and beautiful baskets of goodies.  In addition, the Hollis Art Society artists are donating pieces of their work to the auction.

To continue our successful fundraising efforts, we need your help.  We hope we can count on your support for the Silent Auction as a donor or active bidder.

Hollis Old Home Days is an all-volunteer annual event, the largest Hollis get-together of the year, attended by thousands of Hollis residents.  In addition to the Silent Auction, Old Home Days is primarily funded by business sponsorships and individual donations from the people of our community.  The funds we raise mostly pay for the fireworks, but also for the equipment and supplies that make Old Home Days possible.  This year's fund-raising goal is $10,000.
