The Parade is one of the highlights of Hollis Old Home Days.  It takes place on the morning of Saturday, September 17, 2011.  The Parade steps off at 10:30am, and line-up starts at 9:30am.  The parade runs rain or shine — there is no rain date.  If there is heavy rain, the parade is cancelled.  The parade lines up at Hollis Brookline Middle School, uses the internal connecting roadway so that the parade actually starts marching from the front of Hollis Brookline High School, turns left onto Main Street, turns right through Monument Square, turns right on Depot Road, and ends at Hollis Nichols Field, the site of Hollis Old Home Days.

With marching bands, themed floats, antique cars, antique tractors, horses, fire trucks and more, this festive event with families lining the parade route is the exciting start of a full day and evening of Old Home Days activities and fun!

NOTE: For antique tractors and cars, there will be a display show at Nichols Field after the parade.

As an exciting special part of this year's Hollis Old Home Days Parade, we will have the Tail Parade.  The Humane Society for Greater Nashua invites all Hollis residents with "Tails" (dogs, cats, donkeys, cows, goats, llamas, you name it if it has a "tail") to march behind the Humane Society banner in the Tail Parade as part of the big Hollis Old Home Days Parade.  Please see the Tail Parade page for details, and for instructions on registering your "Tail" to the Tail Parade!

You must pre-register to participate in the parade.  (Or, for the Tail Parade, see that page for registration instructions, per above.)  If your group would like to be in the parade, please fill out the online application for parade participation.  Alternatively, you can fill out and mail the printed parade application to the address shown on that application.  (If you need it, you can also download the free Adobe Reader for viewing and printing the printed parade application.)

There is no charge for themed floats, marching bands, non-profit and community organizations, antique vehicles, or political candidates for local office.  For commercial vehicles or political candidates for state or federal office, there is an entry fee (please see online or printed application for details).

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DEADLINES: The deadline to sign up for the parade using U.S. Mail is Sept. 1, 2011.  However, you can still sign up and pay the entry fee (if any) online up until Thursday, Sept. 15 at 5:00pm.  For questions or special circumstances, please contact Mark Piekarski, Honi Glover, or Dolores Ballou at parade@hollisoldhomedays.org or 603-566-6789 (Mark) or 603-465-2262 (Honi).

Please be a part of Hollis' only annual parade!
