Keeping Traditions Alive is a Hollis cookbook, a collection of timeless recipes from the kitchens of Hollis residents, produced by Hollis Old Home Days. Published in 2008, Keeping Traditions Alive includes nearly 200 of the favorite recipes from 65 of Hollis' best cooks. Appetizers, main dishes, soups, salads, vegetables and side dishes, breads and rolls, desserts, cookies, beverages – from Black Bean Soup to Orange-Ginger Glazed Carrots to Chicken Alfredo Lasagna to Raspberry Cloud Soufflé – the recipes are all here, lovingly and generously shared by our friends and neighbors. This loose-leaf cookbook lies open flat during cooking, and the pages can be quickly and temporarily removed for easy reference.
By purchasing Keeping Traditions Alive, you not only receive an useful, unique, hometown cookbook with delicious recipes that you will use again and again, but the purchase price helps support Hollis Old Home Days. And that, truly, helps keep a cherished Hollis tradition alive.
To help move our remaining inventory, the Keep Traditions Alive cookbook is now on Super Sale for only $3, or 4 cookbooks for $10 (!), only from the Old Home Days Committee direct. There is also no shipping charge — the cookbooks will be hand-delivered to your door (or you can pick them up directly by contacting Kat McGhee at cookbook@hollisoldhomedays.org or 603-465-2033). The cookbook makes a great gift. You an order the cookbooks online using a credit card, or by mail with a check. Please see below.
Hollis Old Home Days is an all-volunteer annual event, the largest Hollis get-together of the year, attended by thousands of Hollis residents. Old Home Days is primarily funded by business sponsorships and individual donations from the people of our community. The funds we raise mostly pay for the fireworks, but also for the equipment and supplies that make Old Home Days possible. This year's fund-raising goal is $10,000.
If your business would consider making a financial contribution of $250 (Silver Sponsor), $500 (Gold Sponsor), or $1000 (Platinum Sponsor) to Hollis Old Home Days, please see our sponsorship page for a description of the benefits we can provide to your business. Or, if you are an individual, please make a donation to help continue this beloved, long-standing Hollis tradition. You can donate with a credit card online (only takes two minutes!), or you can mail a check. Please visit our donation page for details.
In addition to our cookbook, please consider supporting Hollis Old Home Days with purchase of a chocolate bar for $2 (you could win a $100 Golden Ticket!) and contributing merchandise or gift certificates to the exciting and popular Old Home Days Silent Auction. Your support is deeply appreciated!
