Calling all pie bakers!  At Hollis Old Home Days, it's time to get out your best recipe for apple pie.  Even if you have entered before, we welcome you back to challenge new bakers and hopefully to claim the title of "Best" in your age category.  The apple pie contest is sponsored by the Hollis Evening Group of the Circle of Home and Family (CHF).  The following rules apply for all entrants:

  1. Only one entry per person.
  2. No entry fee.
  3. Entry must be a home-prepared, traditional two-crust apple pie — no mixes.
  4. All entries must be submitted by 11:00am on Saturday, Sept. 17 for judging.  Look for the Apple Pie Contest tent at Hollis Old Home Days.
  5. Recipe should accompany entry, specifying the variety/varieties of apples used.
  6. Decision of judges will be final.
  7. All pies become property of the CHF and will be cut and sold by the piece following judging.
  8. Two entry divisions:
    1. Children — ages 12 and under
    2. Students and adults — 13 and up
  9. Prizes awarded for the top three entries in each division.

After the judging, drop by the Apple Pie Contest tent and buy yourself a piece of home-cooked apple pie!
